Launceston Amateur Dramatic Society, LADS, is 160 years old and Charles Causley is a lapsed member who hasn’t paid his subscription.
Members of LADS will give rehearsed readings of four one-act plays written by Charles Causley early in his life. Originally written to be broadcast on the radio, these plays will be read in public here for the first time in many years. The four plays presented are: ‘Runaway’ (1936), ‘The Conquering Hero’ (1937), ‘Benedict’ (1938) and ‘How Pleasant to Know Mrs Lear’ (1948).
